Why should I apply?

  • We build your MVP for you.
    Each successful applicant will receive £10k worth of seed investment towards their idea, delivered by SuperTech and expert partners, Greater Things. Yes that’s right; we will take your idea and take it from concept on a Powerpoint through to a Minimum Viable Product capable of engaging customers.

  • It’s a totally unique offering in the UK

    No other incubator/ accelerator in the UK actually helps founders and businesses with the technology part of their business idea.

  • Not another generic business support incubator

    There are lots of great programmes that help with business plans, mentors, go to market strategies etc. This is not that. We are focused on filling the void which is founders unable to progress because they are struggling to finance the first stage tech-build.

  • You own your idea before AND after 

    No intellectual property rights are surrendered during the programme. The MVP is handed over at the end and is your company’s to exploit.

  • Expert no_code developer assigned to each successful applicant

    You will work with an expert throughout the process to build and develop your MVP leveraging cutting edge technology to turn your business vision into something capable of trading.

  • Access to Digital Innovation Hub at STEAMhouse in Birmingham

    Successful applicants will have access to a brand new innovation space in central Birmingham, that has been specifically designed for digital and tech businesses to form, scale and grow.

 HOW SUPERTECH SEEDS WORKS

  • We have up to TEN MVP builds to fund, equivalent to circa £1 million worth of free, new product development.

    Key details:

    You will be asked to submit a short video explaining: your business idea; why you think it is great and why you’re an entrepreneur to be backed through the programme (max 5 mins).

    Applications are welcomed from entrepreneurs within the West Midlands Combined Authority Area - meaning a postcode in this geography - with priority for applicants from Birmingham, Dudley and Walsall.

    Other non-WM within the UK applicants are welcome, but are subject to the availability of alternative funding streams which cannot be guaranteed, but they do happen, so don’t not apply!

  • The process is simple and involves completing a short application form. Upon receipt, the information is reviewed for eligibility and we will request a short application video to explain more about the MVP build sought through participation in the pre_accelerator.

  • If you are successful, we’ll work with you to understand your idea and will then build your MVP for you in a fraction of the time it would normally take, in order to help get your idea to market sooner.

    This isn’t a conveyor belt incubation approach whereby there are sessions and highly scheduled attendance over a set period of time.

    Depending on the state of idea readiness, our approach is to work with the founder to rapid-spec the MVP to create a true market test of the business idea and enable a meaningful business launch.

    For some this means generating revenue; for others it can mean onboarding potential customers as a demonstration to investors.

  • SuperTech Seeds is a beneficiary pilot project within the West Midlands Innovation Programme 2.0, which is a funded project within the West Midlands’ Innovation Accelerator.

    Led by Innovate UK on behalf of UK Research and Innovation, the pilot Innovation Accelerators programme invested £100m in 26 transformative R&D projects to accelerate the growth of three high-potential innovation clusters – Glasgow City Region, Greater Manchester and West Midlands.

    This is a new model of R&D decision making that empowers local leaders to harness innovation to drive regional economic growth, help attract private investment, and develop future technologies.
